'It takes a lot to cast a spell over a record shop. One of the most haunting projects of the day, Nausica, rose to the challenge. The German/Dutch/Polish band has a sweet side (due in no small part to frontwoman Edita Karkoschka's operatic voice), but it's not all sugar and spice thanks to the quartet's love of spiky instrumentals and abrupt, mid-song shifts'
UNDER THE RADAR (US)
'In vijf nummers laveert de band tussen vinnige, gejaagde indierock (dwingende opener Jane Doe) en dreampop-achtige, ingetogener liedjes als Marie en Soldiers, waarin de stem van Karkoschka op een prettige manier aan Agnes Obel doet denken.'
KICKING THE HABIT (NL)
'[...] a smattering of adventurous tunes embedded in carefully crafted indie rock'
HERE COMES THE FLOOD (NL)
'The Molecules Fall Closer is a well accomplished and tasty hors d'oeuvre, an EP that you should check right now, listening to it over and over waiting for Nausica's next release'
IMPATTO SONORO (ITALY)
'The Molecules Fall Closer is just an EP, but it could be a solid start for a disarming debut album'
